How detrimental is 7ppm No3 to SPS coloration?

My system seems to run 7ppm No3 no matter what I do. If I work at it, I'll will drop to 5ish but then settle back in a 7. My corals are doing great but like many others I always wonder if there is a color left in a few of the pieces. I am starting to thinking my system stores nutrients under the starboard, as there is a 3/8's brace around the bottom of the tank that keeps it off the bottom. I did silicone the edges, but I see pods and brine shrimp under there so I know there has to be stuff getting in. The rest of the system is set up right, plenty of flow, great skimmer albeit smaller than I would like for my stocking level. nothing is breaking down where I can see.

Is 7ppm even worth worrying about?

curious -- have you tried throwing some chaeto in a lit sump and seeing if itll grow?

(I realize chaeto is a no-no for true BB.. I threw mine out about a month ago.. it hadnt been growing in months)

IMO 7ppm is not too bad unless po4 is upthere also .

I have had a steady 10-15ppm for a bit now and I have had corals color up . It's the high po4 that does in the colors IME

po4 tests 0 and I run a little rowaphos just to be sure. I mean I know I could get it lower I wonder why bother.

Kong I've had macro in the tank before but it kinda messed up the sump and made it hard to clean. If anything I would do a rdsb
