How do Feather Duster worms breed?

The other day one of my 4 feather dusters expelled what looked like a green crap. (They then left their tube). I waited wanting to know what it was and it seemed to "melt" into the sand it was on. It appears to have like a white hair algea in it and what look like a mass of copepods circeling above it. Google tells me that it is gametes (like what they use to reproduce). Anyone know for sure? Anyone seen the same thing? I don't really WANT to have a tank full of feather dusters.
