How do I feed this coral?

Got this coral 5 days aho.
I think it's a Cynarina.
The guy I got it from told me it was a soft coral, got no feeding instructions.
I've tried pe mysis (finely chopped), but I don't see him grab anything.
I'm going to try reef chili tonight.
Read on the internet they feed at night.
All this one does at night is shrivel up.
Do I have the type wrong?
Can anyone help?

Hmm it may not be eating because it hasnt adjusted to your tank yet, I know most lps I have wouldn't eat till they were well acclimated. It also might not like being so close to cyano. What are no3 and po4 params? Do you turn your powerheads off to feed? Try just letting some food rest on it with no flow to blow it off and see if it accepts it after a few minutes. Also it looks more like a scoly then cynaria to me. What kind of lighting is it under?

A couple of days ago I moved it to a lower flow area, partially under an arch (based on what I read for Cynarina).
I'll post a newer picture later.
It's under 4 bulb t5's.
I do shut off the powerheads and sump return when I feed the corals.
last night I dropped some pe mysis on it, didn't grab it.
0 nitrates.
And yes, i've been battling cyano.

Cyano is the WORST. You can add chaeto and a desk light to your sump for good nutrient export. Or run gfo in a reactor. Anyway thats off topic haha. Reduce photoperiod till the coral is well acclimated and im sure itll perk up at night and eat. Many LPS take a little time before they are willing to eat in a new tank. 5 days isnt long in coral time, outside of that I have no ideas.

I have Chaeto in the sump.
I'm going to get a reactor.
As it's a new tank (<4 months), i was hoping it would correct itself, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Oh well idk if I'd jump the gun on reactor if its that young, I've never heard of chemiclean, but I had it beat into my head that using additives to kill something usually just causes more problems.

In reference to feeding it I haven't fed mine in 2 months. Good parameters and light are fine for this coral. I find this coral to be pretty hardy and yours look perfectly healthy.

OT, but nonetheless.

Keep in mind... using both typically do not work with the chaeto usually being the one that suffers. The cyano will outcompete the chaeto for PO4 which is usually outcompeted by the GFO. So if you think of it that way, the chaeto dies. So as QP says, use one OR the other.

I usually welcome cyano in my sump which means its out of the DT. I have even read of a few posters who let it run wild in the sump.

He's right, you don't HAVE to feed most LPS, but I think that corals do benefit greatly from feeding.

Fed him last night.
With just the moonlights on, he changed shape and had some tentacles out.
Dropped some pe mysis on him, he gobbled it up quite quickly.
How often should I feed?

Had way more color under led's at the fish store.

i've used chemiclean. its works great but be ready to do a large water change or you WILL get a massive hair algae outbreak. That happened to me twice. Its because your killing the bacteria (cyno is a bacteria not an algae) and releasing nutrients into the system. It works great though and also if you have a skimmer turn it off, it will instantly start overflowing and takes a few weeks to be able to use the skimmer again. also what is your flow? cyno appears because of lack of flow/over feeding tank.

as for your coral, give it time to adjust and try every few days to feed it a little bit.
