HOw do I frag my zoo's. Some of them are taking over

yes collecting zoas w/ a saltwater fishing license is legal in florida as long as it is not in a protected zone. which boca inlet is not.

how much do you usually sell frags of zoas for?
unmounted, mounted, single polyps, etc...

Depending on the type of zoa, a frag of 8 - 10 mounted could go from $5 to $500 or more. Depends on the zoa. I'd say an average of $10 - $25 for a small frag of decent zoas (not rare).

You can take from some areas but alot are protected. I know a spot in the keys tog et awesome blue zoa's but they are in a highly protected area.

FYI taking zoas are not illegal in florida as long as there not in protected areas and you have saltwater fishing license as mentioned above.

I use a Dremel to cut a horizontal line about 1/8 to 1/4 inch below the base of the colony. Then use a flat head screwdriver to pry the frag loose. Once it pops up use a razor blade to cut it away from the rest of the mat. Be careful not to cut too high and damage other polyps. Wear gloves and eye protection. The toxins can be bad. Rinse with r/o water and place back in the tank.
