How do I get rid of this mushroom? I have been battling it for years and it is killing a number of other colonies in my tank. I can't pull the rock and scape them clean bc I have an established tank.

If it was just these two it wouldn't be an issue but they are like pests all over my tank.

patience and persistance.

personally i'd take the time to slowly remove them completely, or to a controllable population.

use razor, scalpel, coral cutters to remove by chipping a bit underneath base removing with bit of rock underneath. you need to make sure to get the base out or it will just regrow.

small ones, you can cover with epoxy as well.

i am not aware of any natural predators.

i've prepared myself to do the same. i made an informed decision to keep mushrooms in my reef and i'm prepared to have to deal with their spread.
i keep an eye on growth/spread and especially for any that have detached and found their way to somewhere i didnt intentionally place them.

Thanks; however, I've been dealing with this for a few years. I have pulled rock and cut and scraped them off. I have a 6 ft tank and apparently I can't get them all. My patience has run! It's part of the hobby. If not this, then something else.

I just purchased F Aiptasia. They warn it will kill any live coral it touches so be extremely careful when using. I have also read about people accidentally dripping some on a coral and it killed it. You may want to do some research into that product. I bought it to head back some encroaching pest corals. Haven't tried it yet though.
