How do I kill a small patch of gsp?

Ive got a small patch of star polyps growing on one of my main rocks in my tank and I dont want to take it out and scrape them off. Plus they're kind of in a crevas to where it would be hard to scrape them out. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get ride of them before they take over?

you could try squiting it with vinegar. other than that I think your going to have to take it out. I could be wrong though, there might be another way to get it out. I don't intentionally kill things so I am not sure

Cover it with reef putty (epoxy). Once it'd dead underneath (from not receiving light) you can pull the putty back off of the rock.

I covered some with black plastic garbage bag and put a rock on top to hold the bag down. Took a while but finally starved it of light and flow. Gone!

I tried the putty and the gsp came back. If you have an aggressive coral that isn't glued down, put it next to the gsp. I've killed unwanted mushrooms and Xenia with a bubble coral.

I'll second the kalkwasser approach - all I had to do was use the same mix I squirt on aiptasia, turn off pumps, squirt it on, let it rest an hour and then turn pumps back on. Follow up in a day if any of it lived.
