How do I know it's working?

How does one know if the different modes are actually working? It's mainly the Lagoon and the Reef Crest. They seem to be just the regular speed.
Mine is set up now in Reef Crest. The speed seems to be just constant.
Please advise...

You will not se the changes occurring. The variance inspeeds occurs over time.
