how do I multiply hairy mushrooms?

How can I get my hairy mushrooms to multiply? thay have grown a llot since putting them in the tank a year ago. I just went to a 120 FWLR tank from 55g

Just be patient, they will multiply in time.

You can lacerate them. Start at the mouth and cut a pie shape out of one. Put some water flow on them so the cuts wont heal. If you want a great book to read on coral propagation. The book of coral propagation by Anthony Calfo. You can find it at

You can also feed them. They will close up just like an anemone. I can't justify that is why mine split but my one BIG one is now 3 mediums...

I recently purchased a piece of live rock with two hairy mushrooms on it and now I have four. this all happened within a month of purchasing them. It's a new setup and I didn't do anything special for this to happen. I'm just hoping they don't split to often or they'll take over...lol
