I have ordered a pair of mandarin from LA yesterday. I would like to find out more Info on QT them. I have basically prepared a 12 gallon nano tank with a some live rock. I am going to release some pods onto the tank so that they have food when they arrive...lol. Now the questions come....do they ever eat pellets? Can they deworm by prazipro? Can they tolerate cupramine?
How do u QT mandarin??

It seems like most of the reefers add their mandarin directly into their DT without going thru quarantine procedure! I just don't feel comfortable about doing so........

IME some fish just don't do well with quarantine. The mandarins if not eating prepared foods may be pretty tricky to quarantine in a system without pods for them to eat. Maybe introducing some pods to the QT before the mandarins arrive will increase their chances if not just make them happier and fatter

If it's possible, move some of your pod population from your tank to the QT, of course you won't be able to move it back afterwards. Perhaps ge some pods to start living in a sponge an transfer it to the QT. or jus spend like 20 bucks for some new copepods will live in the QT. If the mandarin will eat other foods you can supplement it with mysis shrimp and bloodworms.
