How do we feel about this overflow?

Might be a lifereef knockoff... Anyone have an opinion?

if the power fails it will lose siphon --look the u tube doesnt even reach the drain

I saw one from hurricane that looked pretty nice, comes with a splash cover etc

In that picture, the U Tube is in the wrong side of the box. It should be on the right where the baffle would keep it submerged providing the U Tube is long enough. Hard to tell from that pic.

go with the hurricane overflow. I have the dual box (supposedly 1200 gph). Its rock solid. Only complaint is that i'm running the 1200 gph overflow, and even when brand new, my mag 9.5 thats probably running 700 gph w/ headloss gives it a run for its money to keep up. Steady levels, but i'd think it would drain faster.

Very few overflows can actually flow nearly what they advertise including the Hurricane models. Lifereef is the notable exception.

Hence my desire to go with lifereef...Better start saving my pennies...
