How do you acclimate?

i spent about 2 bucks on a hose with flow adjustor on it, i have an old tea jug that i fill up with water from tank and start drip so bag is sitting in water that is same temp as tank and got a table to sit it on so it is in light by tank. I acclimate coral and fish for an hour, and most inverts for 2 hours depending on species than longer for more sensitive inverts.

float to temp, then drip acclimate for about an hour and plop the fish is in the tank.

corals i keep in their bag, add 10 drops of lugols, shake it to death and put it in the tank.

if you look at it you can make one for about $10-$15 at the most. It just a box with one hose coming in and one going out. The hoses have little flow adjusters on them. I plain on making myself one in the not to far future.

I place float the bag in my sump and drip water from the tank into it. I do that for about an hour. I have never lost anything yet.

i just usually float to get the right temp. most corals i just drop in.

tangs i will drip acclimate for about 1 - 2 hrs

If it is sps, I float it for awhile and then pull it out in the air to let it slime, then put it in. Lately it is after interceptor/lugols, and flatworm treatment for 12 hours.

o yes, i will also be doing interceptor treatments on incoming sps now that my tank is free of RB's if there were any left

Yea I do about the same but I need to start dipping first. Most of the corals I have are from other reefer's tanks though.

Normally I will try and show up with a smile and Beer speak when spoken to and try and leave before eveyone else is gone....

ooh you meant fish and stuff. ;)
