how do you clean your LR and sand

I would like to know an ingenious way to syphon or vacuum deterious material from my live rock and live sand. Give me your ideas DIY or store bought.

I blow off my LR with a power head about once a month. If it is really bad when I do it, I hit it again the next day. The results are amazing.

I hired a pistol shrimp to keep my sand clean. He works from dawn to dusk for formula #1 marine pellets.

for the live rock, I just blow it off with a turkey baster. If its really bad, I'll do it in conjunction with a vacuum. That way it gets sucked up as soon as its blown off. If its light I just blow it into the water column and let the skimmer do its job.

Do you blow with a powerhead and syphon when you do your water change or use some kind of filter sack or what method.

My conch keeps my sand clean. The rocks get turkey basted when needed.
