How do you keep the OUTSIDE glass clean?

I've got a glass 240, and dirty glass is my biggest frustration.
When you've got a small tank it's easy to take your sweet time cleaning every little spot.

24 square feet of glass is a big pain in the butt to clean, especially when you're in the tank several times a week dripping water all over the front panel.

How do you guys keep it clean?

use a squeegee (spelling?). Get some warm water with white vinegar and dampen a cloth or sponge and then use the squeegee to clean the glass just like cleaning a car window.

Or if you have kids make it part of their weekly allowance haha

So far tried a squeegee with vinegar, but the squeegee left very minor lines from each pass.

When I do have kids I'll be sure to put make it their problem! :D

I use a vinegar/water solution and newspaper. It not only cleans the glass, it seems to polish it. If the glass is really dirty (too often for me due to neglect), I will use the vinegar/water and micro fibre towel followed by the newspaper. Most all newspapers now use vegetable based ink, so there is no potential harm to the tank.

I am like you, with quite a few sq feet of surface to do. Takes time, but sure looks good.

I dont have a glass tank but I have always used newspaper to clean house window and car windows. I even worked in a car detail shop in the summers when I was in high school and we used newspaper for cleaning the windows there too.

It does work really well and doesnt leave anything behind like paper towels do.

I use a plant sprayer bottle. I dont really measure, but put a couple ounces of vinegar and then fill with water. I use the newspaper the same way I would use paper towel. Just spray the glass, wipe with newspaper. I ball up the newspaper because it is easier to work with. I get the local paper every day, so have lots to work with. Makes great mulch in the garden too ;)

Newspaper? Care to elaborate?

What is you vinegar/water ratio?
