How do you keep your water polished?

So how do I use carbon in combination with socks ? Do I just put some carbon in netting and put it in the two socks?

I throw a pierogi in the tank every now and then.


Seriously though, I don't use any mechanical filtration. Waterflow in my barebottom tank creates an easily accessible mound of detritus that gets siphoned out during the weekly water change.
