how do you know your rotifers crashed

hi guys i have fry . ok i got my rotifer cultcher going for three days now i have read about them crashing . how do you know they crashed?

I have heard that a crashed culture has a funny smell (Fresh culture also smells funny to me :lol: ) In any case, whether they crash or not, if you have no rotifers in your bucket / tank then you need to either start a new culture from the crud at the bottom or order some more. Even a very small density of rotifers can be brought back to a heathly culture by feeding them and not harvesting.

Split your culture into two if possible. Like an insurance policy
