my water got real cloudy a few days ago, i think my snails were spawning. my bta balled up and hasnt been out for 4 days, now he looks all shriveled up and a greenish brown, should i remove him or wait?

I'd wait it could turn around. But if it starts to melt or disinegrate, then take it out ASAP.

what do u thinks wrong with him. and when u say melt what would he look like then. what if something happens while im at work?

I would leave it unless it looks like its falling apart, if there is stuff coming out of its mouth, take it out. Usually when they start expelling waste like that they are goners.

I don't see how a snail spawn could have caused your BTA to get like that. I would do a water change and run some carbon if you haven't already. Skim heavy and keep the water good in order for a full bounce back from the anemone.

If something happens at work.... well, I guess something happens. Don't take it out if it is still alive though. Leave him be.

If it does die while you're away, make sure to check as soon as you are home from work.. and take whatever measures necessary at that point.

Good luck,
Scott

i have 2 places in the back of my pinguin 300 4 carbon, what kind do u think i should get theres none in there now, i never put any in the tanks been up for 4 mo.

I doubt that was snail spawn. Put some carbon In your filter. That will help remove any contaminants. Watch your BTA closely and remove if
he starts to spew out of it's mouth. Other wise leave alone.
I think the water is polluted. Test for ammonia, nitrate, pH, and salinity and see if there in normal range if not , do 4 25% water changes over the next week.

Teena, just a suggestion, if you must remove it, use something to suck it out, do NOT try to lift it out , it will come apart and leave parts of it all over your tank.
Can you show us a picture of it?
That would help to determine if it is really sick or just playing coy.
