I am curious to know how you all filter your quarantine tanks for your nano sized tank. I've read all sorts of articles but they talk about QT's for much larger tanks.
I have a 12 gallon aquapod as my main tank. For a QT, I have an extra 5 gallon acrylic tank, a nice light, a powerhead, a heater, and a HOB type small whisper filter.
So my question is, how exactly can I use this to have a successful QT? Others have told me that they take a few cups of water out of their main display tank every day and that keeps it good. Also, I've heard that I should put a small sponge in my filter for a few weeks and then start my QT that way.
What do YOU do? Do you run some type of filtration? Any specifics on a successful QT process with a nano will be appreciated.
