How do you remove an anemone

I am interested in removing one of my anemones to give to someone else. It has already attached to some rock. I heard using ice works, but was interested in finding out what else might work, or if there is something better to try.

never heard of ice, but when I have too I just aim a powerhead directly at its "foot" and it lets go on its own in a little while.

Just push gently at the base of the foot 'till it lets go. Or point a powerhead right at it and it will float away after several minutes.
