How do you run your lights? blues w the 10k or seperate?

I have the coralife 48" fixture 260 watts...

2x65 blue antic...
2x65 10k sunlights...

then the blue led's ...

am i supposed to run the antic for 1 hr then 10k's for 6hrs then 1 hr of antic, then led's for the rest of the night or just run the antic and 10k together ..


As we speak now I have the fixture on a coralife timer surge protector... I have the antic's and the 10k running from 6am until 8pm then the led's go on ... I was looking at a dual power center from coralife... which would allow me to run antics and 10k seperate.... what difference would it make ???

Please tell me how I should and how long these lights should be running... am I fine as-is now or should I cut the time back some?
I'm at a stand still and just want to confirm things are right or ok in this sense... everything in the tank is awesome and looking good....

Here is the way I run my (4) 96w PC bulbs:

2x Actinic - 10am - 11am
2x Actinic + 2x 10K - 11am - 10pm
2x Actinic - 10pm - 11pm
Moonlights - 11pm - 10am

Depending on what you have in your tank, 6+2 hours might not be enough. Then again, if everything is looking good, then you might be fine. Increasing your times might also create more growth. I'm sure others will chime in with their timing schedules also. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here's the way i run my setups

7am till 8 am Actinic
8am till 8 pm 10K
8pm till 9pm actinic
Moonlights 9 pm till 7 am

Not on the bedroom tank. Gotta sleep in complete darkness. Blue LEDS light the room.

Bedroom reef

7am till 8am Actinic
8am till 9 pm 10K
9 pm till 10pm actinic
10pm till 11pm Blue LEDs
11pm till 7 am darkness.

I throw the scedule off on weekend.. Bad me!.. I like to sleep in some and don't wanna listen to fans or see light of day. LOL

I forgot to throw in that in the day time hrs 10K's are also on with the Actinics.

So I should run my antics alone from 6am-7am, then turn on the 10k's and leave the antics on as well, and leave the 10k's on until 7pm, then turn off the 10k's and leave the antics on til 8pm, then run my blue led's for the night ?? sound right for me ?

second question is, should I just buy a seperate timer for the antics since my coralife power center is just the basic with 2 day's and 2 night slots... I'd need another timer to run the antics seperate... will 1 seperate timer for the antics be OK ??

Yeah i needed another seperate timer. I have a coralife digital timer. When one set goes off it switches the other set on. So for the control needed, I needed a seperate timer.

Run 2 timers. When my 10K's switch off i have them set to switch on my LEDS on my 75 gal. Then i run a seperate timer to control the Actinics.

There's no harm in just running the actinics and 10K on the same schedule. People just like to see a bit on either end under just actinic. The corals don't care.
