HOW does everyone make it look so nice?

yea i bought a diamond goby and the little bugger doesnt do much in the way of eating alege and yes i know the yellow tank is not going to solve the problem but i thought he would pick of little things on the rock.i just pic one up hes aclamating now MALHAVOC what made you get out of the hobby

You dont wanna work around the problem.... ie buying something to eat the algae

You want to SOLVE the problem.... ie figuring what is giving you the algae

Again though... if its a new tank you'll have algae to start off with... nothing you can really do about it. Its "new tank syndrom"

I agree, find the problem and solve it. I think if you have an established DSB (deep sand bed) not to go with a diamond goby.

Here's what I do... :)

RO/DI water with 0TDS
Limit nutrients - nitrate/phosphate
Employ a proper cleanup crew
Plenty of flow and skimming

On the topic of keeping sand clean, when you clean it with a siphon wouldn't the siphon suck up a lot of sand? I know with my FW tank, it will pick up a lot of the smaller rocks.

?;)

yes its does a little you need to hold it above the sand a little it takes some practice but youll get the hang of it after a while
