How far down can I place SPS?

Right now I'm running a Reefbreeder value LED fixture with 90 degree optics(whites @80% blues 100%). The tank is 28" high and the lights are 7-8" off the water surface. How far down would I be able to place SPS before they would start to brown out? I have a shelf that is roughly halfway down I would like to put some encrusting monti's on it but I don't want them to lose there color. Will this work or should I keep them Higher in the tank?

KI currently have 6 encrusting and/or plating Monti's. I have some down a ways with the 120 optics of my bargain basement 120w TaoTronics- without dimmers.

I think you should try it and give them some time to adjust, I think they'll be fine.
