How far will you go?

I guess the farthest i have ever gone is about 90 miles, to austin aqua dome. But its totally worth it. I love going to that store.

Damn, I used to think a 30 mi drive was a long haul. I tend to base it more on time now though. I live in Pensacola and it takes me almost as long to cover 10mi as it did to cover 30 in Oklahoma City. The lack of a good highway system here really screws you on drive time.

I'd probably extend to Destin or Panama City from Pensacola if I knew they had a few things I really wanted and the price was right. I can't say I'd drive that far for a shopping trip though. I try to limit my casual shopping to 30min drive time or so.

The wife and I drive about 120 miles one way every time I come home from work in Alaska. So at least once a month. We are going to be making a trip over to the Seattle area this summer for fish stores and sightseeing so that will be about 300+ one way.

We regularly drive 314 miles! Woo hoo! From Central WY to Salt Lake City! And I know that when we stay at the inlaws, a good escape is to plan a "LFS day". I always pack a styrofoam cooler in the back of the car "Just in case" :) Some trips have been cut short to get back to the house with the livestock.

375 miles to Pure Reef in Alpharetta, Ga. Just north of Atlanta off Ga 400. Great coral selection, great fish, healthy, clean, and great/knowledgable owners and staff.

Don't know if this counts but with traffic it took 4 hrs to get to a LFS last week in the north suburbs of Chicago... wasn't a lot of miles, but it sure took a while.

Wow I am very lucky I have an amazing Marine only LFS (Sandlapper Aquatics) 10 minutes (about 4 miles) from my house another great FW only LFS 30 minutes away (20 miles) and an ok one about 45 minutes (30 miles) away.

no thanks ryno did that in a Semi Tractor :) but i must say the view was GREAT!!!!! :)
I can drive as few as 30 miles and as far as upto a lil over 120 miles one way for great LFS. Here in Ky

Being a grad student, I'm not really willing to go far out of my 30-mile radius. Having a tight budget does well at keeping me tethered to home base too.

If I can't find it at the LFS or local clubs/forums, and I don't want to pay the high shipping costs from online livestock purchases, then I don't need it lol!

My nearest LFS is 200kms away, around 120 miles. Regularly do that trip. The nearest store that builds decent tanks is a bit over 1000kms each way (600 miles), day and half road trip to pick up my current tank once it was built. Also picked up some nice SPS corals while I was down there.

Dave.
