How fast can one raise SG out of Hypo?

I've been working my clowns out of Hyposalinity for several weeks now and the SG is at 1.020 in the QT tank. I'll be picking up a Frogspawn frag at my local reef club meeting on Sunday and would like to be able to QT the frag, but with the clowns in there I have nowhere to put it.

I was thinking I could get them to 1.022 yet today, get 1.024 by saturday night, and then sunday morning drip acclimate them to the main tanks water.

Is this a safe rate?

You should be fine. I've raised it by that much with a pair of clowns and a tang and they were fine.

Awesome...thank you! I figured it would be okay but wanted to double check.

I'll be throwing up tons of pictures once I get the clowns back to the main tank (hopefully they'll like my Xenia!)

i've done .003/24 hours increase on clowns w/ a drip and haven't seen any ill effects - you've probably already started, but i figured at least one more anecdote on the pile couldn't hurt.

Another question...I've just been doing water changes with full strength salt water (1g at a time in a 10g...barely moves the SG reading on the refracto) as well as topping the tank off with full strength SW...

Is there another way, like setting up a drip of super-concentrated SW or something?

i've never went above .040 w/ drip rate of 1 per 5 seconds or so, and dripping right above a powerhead, but yah...going w/ a salinity well above your target makes the process go a little quicker - i'd imagine if you're going slow enough on the drip rate, you could go even higher on the salinity of the drip-water, but that's as high as i've went, at least.
