I have a polyp of 2 difrent types of acans and just wondering how fast they mutiple. My acan are well fed very fat and healthy had for about 2 weeks . Just a time table would do . Thanks

Pretty fast.:) I have a Aussie rainbow acan that came with 3-4 adult polyps a few weeks ago. It now has a total of about 9-10. Feeding it will encourage it to multiply faster.

NOT MY THEY ARE SO SLOW IN MY TANK. I HAD IT ABOUT 3MONTH FEED THEM GOOD TOO NOT SHOWING MUTIPLE ANYTIME SOON:mad2:

it jus all depends on everyones tank... i had about 8 heads of my x-mas acans for about a year ago, and now i have about 12... seems pretty slow to me... and plus, i never feed them, but im sure it'll help a lot...

We are talking lordhowensis, right? They grow well if fed mysis, etc. weekly. Other acans like echinata, bowerbanki, etc. seem to grow at a slower pace than lordhowensis as a general rule.

I've got some aussie lords that have taken off, adding new polyps at an incredible rate while others, purchased at the same time, from the same vendor, and now in the same tank under identical conditions have hardly grown at all. IMO each specimen will grow at different rates.

Garrett.

Thats definitely the case, as with all corals. As a general rule though, lordhowensis is a pretty good grower, IMO.

SLOW as heck! I feed like crazy too but still barely see any growth. Some people just get luckier than others.:(

They are medium light, so that depends on wattage too, but mine are under 14K 250 MH as a rule. I am gettig good growth out of most of them.
