How fast do Carpets grow?

I have 30g (36x12x16) with a 4" sand bed with 3x39T5HO lights. I am looking for an anemone for my flase percs so I am limited. As I read about the Carpet anenomes, I see that the carpets get very large.

If I were to buy a smaller specimen, in general how long would it be before it outgrew the tank. I do plan to upgrade in the future but it may be at least a year or two.

Also is the 3x39T5 HO even enough light?

It depends on how much you feed him/her. I never use anything other than MH so I am not sure about your light output.

if you feed it heavily, a small (H. haddoni)carpet could fill your tank within 6 months. A carpet isn't the best bet for A. ocellaris. A better choice would be H crispa- a natural host, or the ever popular BTA, which isn't a natural host, but is generally accepted to be the hardiest host anemone.

Yes it does depend on how much you feed your carpet. If your T5s have individual reflectors, than you have more than enough light. T5s with individual reflectors can be or are stronger than some MH units btw. So yes your definately set for lighting. :)

My Haddoni loves my Tek T5s.

Although I wouldn't recommend getting a carpet with an occellaris in a 30 gallon. Go for like a BTA. Thats what I would do.
