How fast does a tang grow

Starting a reef tank for the first time. 56 gallon column tank. 30 long 18 deep and 24 tall.
I know by all accounts this tank is to small for a tang, but my 6 year old really wants Dori. I was thinking maybe get a small tang like an inch or inch and a half, and keep it at least for a while...then trade it in win it gets to big. But how long is awhile? Do they grow 2 or 3 inches in a year or half inch a year. Still hoping maybe I can make this work for my kids .. Any thoughts are appreciated.

So not even the small scopas but even the dory that would at least need 200 gallons (don't know the value here at the forum).

I know you can get them really really small. But they would need a bigger tank pretty fast. Esp when they are small they grow like weed.

Give the kids nemo, and skip dory really.

Get the fish that you have the tank for or get the tank now and when the tank is ready, get a tang.
