how fussy are acans and duncans?

1. I take it they're like bubble, somewhat lower light.

2. I take it they're moderately aggressive. What's their reach?

3. If you're having good success/growth with euphyllias, are you likely to have success with an acan or duncan?

I've kept euphyllias, caulestra, bubble, elegance [before the disease became common] and had no problems: euphyllias are dividing hand over fist.

The acans and duncans are new to me. What can you tell me about their growth relative to, say, a caulestra or maze brain?

neat. They all look very prosperous. That acan attack looks a little like a hydnaphora set-to. I'll be sure to properly respect those!

1. They actually like high light and can definately adjust to any light.
2. Depends on what kind of acan you get but the lords can get along with some corals. I have duncans and lords touching each other with no problems. I even have palys touching acans with no problems. But i did have a chalice fall on an acan and the chalice was beaten up by the acan.
3. They are both realy easy to take care of.

1. Most acan lords like medium light. Some can recede quite quickly if they are blasted with high light. Some like much lower light also. You really have to place your frag and watch it. If its not getting nice and puffy in a couple days, lower the placement a little and watch it some more.

Duncans do well in medium/high light. The more flow they are getting, the more they seem to 'branch'. In medium/lower flow they seem to stay bunched together as the new polyps appear.

2. Acan lords are much more aggressive than duncans. I haven't seen my duncans bother anything really, while you'll see multiple threads here about an acan being the demise of another coral that was placed too close. The only coral I have had next to acans that dont seem to get their wrath is zoos/palys

3. They are both fairly easy to care for. Acans are sometimes prone to polyp bailout with low magnesium levels. Duncans and acans both put on polyps much faster with regular feedings, but neither really require being religious about it unless you are looking for quick growth.

Hope that helps a bit.

duncans will be the jack of all trades, high light low light, high flow, low flow, lots of feeding a little feeding. With acans, I have noticed that the more blue or purple the higher up they need to be while reds can be low. They do like a medium amount of flow. And acans are much more agressive since some of mine bascially took out my candy canes.
