How good is ARO?

2-250's on your 50 gal. tank? Way too much in my opinion. I'd do 2-175's and 2 VHO's. 10K-14K MH's and 1-.03 and 1 12K VHO. .03 on for 2 hrs, then .03 and 12K for another 2, then both VHO's and MH's for 4, then MH's off for 2, then .03 only for 2. You also have to acclimate the tank to MH by screening the MH or starting at 1 hr. for 3 light cycles, then 2 hrs, then 3, then 4. If not your corals will suffer. All your low light stuff will need poshed to the edges and bottom of the tank too.

youngstown? they got their butts whooped by PSU yesterday......

anyway, ive been using the 175w ARO ballast for almost a year now, and I love it. No complaints here.

We'll see how PSU does next week against a real team. OSU is gonna murder em, YSU is never a match for a D-1a school. Tressel will get PSU hard next week.

Anyway, thats for letting me know about you ARO.

lol yeah, i'm sure its not gonna be a good week for PSU next week. BUT, you win some and lose some.

Forgot to mention, the ARO ballast is real easy to wire up as well. Just use some wire nuts and some electrical tape, and you're good to go. For a more solid connection, you could solder, but the wire nut/tape deal will work fine.

The ballast has 4 or 5 leads coming out of it, the two yellow go to the mogul socket, and the others get attached to the power cord that comes with it.

YSU won! Exposure, school payday for a gate $ percentage, media coverage. Did I mention exposure? Most will see it as a bad move, a blowout, and an unnecessary loss. The future for YSU football may be brighter than PSU's in comparison with regard to growth, schedule, and fan base. It'd be strange tuning in to a Sat. game and seeing YSU play on national TV eh?

Ya, 2 150's should do nicely, much more and you'd have to move them to over 12" above the tank.

Next year YSU will be on national TV. They play Ohio State.

Going with the 150 HQI pendants all I need to do is cut the center of my canopy and hang the pendants from the ceiling. That way I can still have 2 VHO's mounted inside my canopy.
