How high up to place Crocea in tank

I just purchased a 3.0 inch Crocea clam and it is in my 75 gallon reef tank with 2x250 SE MH and 2x96 watt Pc's. The halides are about 8 inches fro the top of my water and the clam is about half way up the rock in the tank. Where would it be ideal to keep the clam in the tank.. Closer to the top.. or where. thanks any info is appreciated.

in a 75 if u wanted to keep it in the sand that would be fine, i would put a peice of LR under it. but just about any where..

I have 250 watt de halides 10k and I keep a maxima and crocea about 12 inches from the bulbs. While they'd probably be fine further down or even on the sand, I prefer to give them more light rather than less.
