how long before my new clam is supposed to open up?

I just got my first maxima clam on Saturday and today I saw him open about half way. I am curious to know how long it takes before I should expect him to open fully. I have him at the bottom of the tank (the tank is 18" tall) under a current outer orbit fixture with 150w 10k mh and 4 t5's. Also I dont know if its my imagination or not but I think he has burrowed slightly into the sand, I don't know if that's a good thing or nothing at all but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

mantle extension varies by species and tank conditions, he may be normally extended or still acclimating.

My halides haven't come on yet. This is just under the t5's and this is about as far as he opened yesterday.

I tested this morning

ca 400
dkh is a little low at 6
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
mag 1320
sg .025
