I have a small purple tang... like 1.5" that i have had for a few months now in my tank. I also have....
2 paired black and white clowns
2 paired helfrichs
YWG
Mystery Wrasse
Longfined Fairy Wrasse
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Mandarin Dragonet
Purple Tang
I had in QT a neon dottyback and a japanese borbonius Anthia. I put them into an acclimation box in my tank after a month of QT get my fish used to them. I know after you add a purple tang it should be the last fish. I added the Coris wrasse after the tang and everything was fine. Anyways..... The Tang started to be aggressive towards my Anthia kinda of keeping him in one corner of the tank. Left the dottyback alone really for the most part. Anyways after 2 days of this I took the tang out b/c my Anthia (still ate like a pig even tho the tang picked on him) showed signs of nipped fins and stuff. So the tang went out and put into my QT tank. I know you can break aggresive behavior of some fish by removing it and than reintroducing it. So my tang has been in QT for 5 days, shes been hiding in the aquarium Skull ornament and not so happy, but she still comes out to eat like she always did.
So my question is... Can I re-introduce her into my tank? Or how long should I keep her in QT? I didn't move/add any rock to my tank (should I put some more in there to confuse her?) She was always compatible with the other fish. Occasionally going over to the clowns and stuck her tail at them but never straight up attacked any fish. Thoughts? Suggestions?
My options here are... I have a buddy with a baby chevron tang that is willing to straight up trade me for it. My purple has excellent colors and no defects and has kept whatever hair algae growth that I might have down to a bare minimum.
I will add a tank upgrade size in the works so the tangs home in a 72 is only temporary, a year at most right now
