how long before trying to get RBTA to move?

i put a RBTA in on tues, now thurs. it's foot only traveled about 2" from where i placed it. it's in a good spot but instead of extending up over front of piece of rock, it's going towards back, barely visible from front. i know it's only been 2 days, but i think it's foot in a good place, in a cave. if it stays extended on this side of rock, how do i get it to extend over front side? i fed it yesterday and it ate a 1/2 silverside. maroon pair hosting. in mod/high light, and low/mod flow.

Give it a couple of more days and see how things go.

Mines been in for a week and immediately head back into the rock and has stayed there. I have yet to try to move it. I can shine a flashlight back and see it. It is extended nice but is back in the rocks.

Mine did something similar as well. It was in a spot that got decent lighting, but not great so I left it alone to do it's thing. It took a few weeks for it to start making an appearance above the rocks. Now, almost 7 weeks later, nearly all the oral disk is above the rock level. It comes out a little further each day and stays out a little longer each time. I'm sure it was adjusting to flow and lighting. The great part about her cave is that if she's had too much of the light, she can retreat when she needs to.

Is this nem a captive clone or a wild caught? WC's seem to have a harder time adjusting and may take longer.

The best thing is to leave it alone. Your anemone doesn't care if you don't like where he is at. He doesn't know he's on display and should be out in front for you to view. If you move him, he may just move again. Two days is way too soon for him to pick a long term spot.

I agree with redvipe2010, the best thing you can do for this guy is leave it alone, and let it do it's own thing. Mine had to adjust to new lights (different K value) and different flow and it took some time.

This is one week after we added ours. Her cave is barely visable towards the bottom center. Her foot is anchored at least 8 inches down in the cave I would guess, and of course she comes up through the back, not the front.



It took another month for her to do this:



I think this last round of extension came because we lessened the flow around her a bit.

Just be patient and give her some time to figure out where she's comfortable.
