How long can a fish stay in hypo?

I have a blue tang I've had in hypo for 8 weeks now. I thought I saw some ich at 4 weeks, so I've left him in hypo. I think he's clear now, but was wondering if I can leave him in there a few more weeks to be on the safe side. Would it cause him problems?

Should not be a problem. Are you using a refractometer (not hydrometer) to measure the salinity daily? Are you checking the pH daily?
