How long did it take you to get your fish to follow you

Well my new tank has it's first fish last week and 4 new fish today. Well they all them run away like babies. I hate the beginning stage of a new reef. It is so funny how my office tank has fish jumping out of tank just to be feed and this new tank is so opposite... The best story is the first fish I put in the new tank was from my office tank and I guess he does not have the trust from me yet... Very weird fish are
