So changed my power heads last Monday . Little more flow not much . Leather has been out and find for almost 2 years . Since I changed them power heads it hasn't been out . I'm starting to worry . It's not falling over or anything . Just curious if anyone else has had this happen ?

Does it appear to have a waxy coating on it? It will usually shine under blue light and look slightly darker under white if it is getting ready to shed. A quick blow with a turkey baster can help it along if that is the problem.

That is a long time though. Seeing as how it was happy before you may want to adjust the flow a bit to better match what you had.

Just strong flow on it will be enough for it to shed. Keep them in a strong flow and mod/high lighting. They love strong flow.

I don't have a baster , but will get one tomorrow!

Making sure it is getting strong flow is more important because it is a natural process that should be able to happen on its own.

A couple cheap basters come in handy in any case. Whether you need to blow detritus off of a rock or glaze a ham, they are useful.

I had a neon green toadstool leather sulk for a month before put out its beautiful polyps again. I was so depressed, I thought it was dyin.

Have a green leather toad stool now as we speak that's been closed and waxy for a week it is a little depressing lol

Still closed up with waxy film on it I've tried to move to different spots in tank with no luck I upgraded tanks and switched everything to new tank all lps softies and sps are doing amazing but toadstool opened up for the first two days and then closed for good

The waxy film says to me it needs to shed. It needs to be in a high flow and moderate to strong lighting. Put it there and leave it. It appears from what you say that your water parameters are find since the rest of the tank is doing well. Just place it like I suggested and leave it.
