depending on the type and the conditions, it could take months.

You shouldn't need to feed zoas

Your tank's age, lighting, parameters, salinity, amount or internal current, etc are the sole determining factors of polyp growth. There are several threads on this topic in this forum. A quick search to the right will yield tons of great info from a lot of great reefers in this forum both past and present.
