Hi guys right now i'm in a buzz over restarting my tank. I'm on the net gathering info, what i'm going to buy , what to buy first anyway you get the picture. I'd say 80% of the fun in the hobby is setting up a tank.

Now how long does it last; what's the thing that you think will annoy you or did annoy you the first when the routine gets in .

I'm currently working on my 5th build, only difference is this time I'm starting over from the very beginning. New tank, new equipment as I didn't keep anything from my last build since I'm down grading. One thing I've noticed is that I'm actually enjoying it, every time I've up graded it's basically been a transfer over. This time I will be going thru the whole cycle which usually lasts about 4 weeks, that will probably be the hardest part. Lol but it's giving me time to create a good aquascape and glue everything together. Correct a lot of my past mistakes is key for me

A good reason to go slow and enjoy it. If you QT everything properly, it stretches out that setting up buzz for a long time.

We drove four hours last night to buy a Mocha Maine clownfish.:-)

There's not really any part of the routine that annoys me but I hate the waiting game of QT. I QT everything and although I know why I do, it's not always easy to be patient!

I'm currently restarting as well. Starting all over. Have had a 29g set up for the past couple years but what killed me was I got a little lazy in taking care of it and it has just slowly become a disaster to clean and try to get back to how it once was. Lucky for me I bought a new house and decided well if I'm going to have to tear down the whole 29g setup to move it to my new house.... might as well start all over with new equipment, newer bigger 75g tank and stand, new rock and sandbed. Only thing transferring over would be my 3 current fish and maybe some of the hermit crabs and snails. And cleaning the old tank out and using that as a QT tank now in my basement and to try and rid of the hair algae currently on the corals I have in the 29g to later swap into my 75g.

Very excited about the restarting process and plan on doing everything right this time around so that the buzz of the tank doesn't go away like it did for me when I got lazy with cleaning the inside tank walls, sandbed and water changes.

Yes...the patience aspect during QT is the hardest part for me. I actually setup a 2nd tank and a coral frag tank to keep the buzz going. But, now I realize that it is a lot of work and that you really have to stay on things so that they don't go south on you.

^Yes absolutely! Learned that the hard way with my 29g. Going to do everything I can to keep that from happening again.

Voted water changes but didn't notice the parameters one! Doesn't help that im paranoid of the test kits toxicity.. so many precautions to take :P
