How long fallow?

So, I got a little lazy on my QT procedure and it cost me big. Ich wiped out most of my tank. Its amazing how fast it can attack. I managed to save 2 of my fish, which are now being treated. My question is, how long do I need to run my display fallow before I can start stocking it again? This is so frustrating.

I did 5 weeks and it worked out fine...... no more ich....

I would say at least 8 weeks....But I personally prefer 10. The longer the better in my opinion......

This is so frustrating. I changed my rockwork and had three extra pieces of liverock. I didn't have anywhere to put the rock, and didn't want to kill it, so I through it in my QT. Then, I wound up buying a fairy wrasse. I had him in the QT, with the liverock, for 6 weeks. I never saw a problem with the fish. A few weeks after putting him in the display, my huge Royal Gramma, is covered with ich and dead within days. I was able to catch my Watchman Goby but my Tang is still in there, and it looks like I'm going to have to tear the tank apart to catch him. The other fish are dead. This sucks.

Don't quote me on this...But I thought I remember reading there is a stage of the ich life cycle that can last 72 days. Hence my 8 week opinion.......
