How long in between Cupramine treatments?

I have had some fish in Cupramine copper treatment for about 4-5 weeks now, but don't feel that I can rely on this is a true QT period as testings have been iff'y at best to guarantee I have had the copper > .35ppm the whole time.

So I want to bring copper back to 0, give some time for the fish to rest, and then start the copper period over again.

Question is: how much time should I give in between treatments so the fish aren't overwhelmed?

Just a guess. It depends on what you're treating; if there's no urgency, I'd probably give them a month off. Copper is a great, but tough med.

i agree, give it a month in between. though cupramine is not as strong but still levels of copper can damage liver and internal organs over constant use.

Thanks. Think I am losing the main fish anyway, so will just start back from scratch adding some new fish, giving it a month.

No issues with running PraziPro during that month-off I assume?

I often keep the fish in QT without copper for a month after treatment just to "make sure" it worked....

prazipro should be fine.

If you couldn't verify your copper levels during the first round of treatment, how are you going to verify them during the second? Make sure you get that problem solved first. Otherwise you're exposing your fish to a potential toxin for an unclear benefit.

Have been working this out through emails with Seachem. The ppm results are not working out as per the instructions (taking nearly 50%+ more) OR the testkits are ineffective. Either way, if I choose Cupramine the 2nd time I will buy a new bottle and new test kit just in case. I may just go Tank Transfer method going forward.

You can also go Hypo and its easy to maintain as long as you can keep salinity at 1.009 having an ATO will help.
