I had this weird, beautiful lime green starfish for 2 yrs. Not sure, to be honest, if it was a linkia or a brittle -- it it was a brittle it looked nothing like the green/brown ones. No longish tentacles off the arms. Smooth body, and small.
Anyway, after 2 years, it seems to have died. Tips of a couple legs fell off, it was huddled in a corner, non-responsive to feedings, then gone. No signs of stress to anything else in the tank, including my green brittle star. No changes or additions in a long time. Nothing out of the ordinary anywhere.
Seems a short life-span if this is normal. And I am pretty sure I'll never find another like it.
