How long to quarantine

Hi I'm Ben and very new to this hobby and was wondering how long I should quarantine new arrivals? How long have you quarantined in the past and how successful is it?

Hi Ben,

It depends on the fish. People will have different answers, but it could be anywhere from a few weeks to considerably longer if you have to treat them for something and make sure they are healthy. A minimum of five weeks

I would suggest 9 weeks or if you use the tank transfer method 12 days of transfer and at least 5 weeks after the transfers. Anything less and you are taking a risk of introducing a disease into your tank.
