My old tank was ravaged by bryopsis, and I just took it down. The rocks were not transferred to my new tank; I put them outdoors, exposed to sun, rain and the elements. How long should I leave them out to be certain that no life exists on them, including any potential spores? I'd like to use this rock in the future for rubble or for mounting corals, but I would hate to introduce any bryopsis or other nuissance algae into my system. I would probably eventually rinse them in saltwater and skim for a while before using it, but I'm interested in an "exposure" time period.
Thanks!
