How many barlett anthias can I keep in a 100g display tank with very good filtration and about 210 gallons of total system water volume? Also about 40x turnover in terms of flow.

I will only have a genicanthus angelfish and a pair of ocellaris clowns as tankmates.

in a 100G display? so the tank is more like 98 gallons, 36" x 25" x 25", but the water volume is 210g.

I think I'll start off with 5, and see how that goes. It might get a bit crowded =/

You dimensions dont provide to much swimming space for a 100 gallon tank. I saw a 4 x 2 foot tank that had 11 Anthias. I would go with 5-7.

well, I'm talking about barlett anthias, the smaller of the anthia species (check subject).

I also will have 40x turnover, and only 45lbs. of live rock. They'll have to be swimming a lot, and I'm sure I have more swimming room than most 100g's with only 45lbs of rock ;)

the good news

the good news

the good news is that in my experience you can always add more anthias later if you decide you want more and they should fit in fine. Also mine love to swim in crazy current and I have over 50x turnover in my 300 gallon tank. At night they will lay in the rocks.

Let me know how it works. I'd like to add 5 in my 100gl (4ft) tank. I am worried that my tank would be too small...
