Or rather how many inches of fish? I have 120 gal, 20 gal. sump, skimmer, SPS, LPS, two anemones, shrimps, crabs, snails, 120 lbs. live rock. I don't want to overstock.

Thanks for any help!!!!!!

inches of fish don't work it all depends on the type of fish and what their needs are is how you stock your tank. and how big they get full grown.

yup all depends.

You could try coming up with a stocking list. Perhaps 12 medium-sized fish as a very rough starting point (think royal gramma size). That'd be a conservative starting point.

Trail and error works but you will lose some fish, if you aren't careful. I think less is better. It gives the others more room.

It really does depend on the final size of the fish and as others have stated the type of fish. I have a foxface that produces way more waste than my other fish. I have read where some people have way more fish than most but they spend quite a bit of time on maintenance. I think your best bet would be to slowly add fish to your tank and monitor water parameters. I have a 90 gal and intend to add about 10 fish. Seven of them will be three inches max or less and I will also have the foxface, a yellow tang and mabe a pygmy angel.

i have for example:(in my 120)
1. 3.5" Blue Throat Trigger(male)
2. 3" Yellow Tang
3. 1" Ocellaris Clown
4. 2" Lawnmower Blennie
5. 2" Yellow Watchman Goby
6. 2-2" Green Chromis

and i feel that i am maxed out because of the adult size capabilities of the BTT & YT.

Currently in my 6 ',125 [soon to be transferred to new tank] I have 7 fish- Raccon Butterfly, Iridis Wrasse, 2- Argi Angels, 2- Ocellaris Clowns, Candy Hogfish..

And if you are questioned about it, lie;)

Thanks for y'all's help. I have all my fish in qt right now. Took them out to treat with hypo for ich. I have 1 bannerfish, 1 blue tang (2 in) 1 foxface,2 false percs, 2 yellow clown gobies. I have a chance to buy a female bellus that's 5 inches. Would that be pushing it? 120 gal mixed reef. If it's too many, I guess I would have to part with the foxface or the blue tang.

Thanks.
