how many fish in 20gal LONG

Don't have room for any other tanks or a 40 gal.

So are you just looking for one person to say "yes a 20 long should be enough for those fish"?

I had 11-12 fish in a 40 gallon for treatment, and ended up getting an extra 20 gallon and 10 gallon, treated then sold them off.

Just try and see if you can't do anything else about it

No I was asking what you guys think since i only have two options

#1 fight ich in my main DT and hopefully live with it.
#2 put them all in a 20 gal LONG

Down to 10 fish now BTW

3 anthias, 1 purple tang, 1 copperband butterfly, 2 wrasse, 1 hawkfish, 2 clownfish.

If you are losing fish that quickly are you absolutely positive that you are dealing with ich? At this point I think the qt is a risk you are gonna have to take. If it was a minor case and only a few fish lightly affected and there are no other options besides the 20 then I would say leave them and hope they get through it. But if every fish is covered, and nothing is helping, then do the qt. just be ready for the water changes and get a seachem ammonia badge, hob filter( put in
Pillow stuffing and remove daily), power head and an airstone and hope for the best.

20 gallon should be fine. If there is fighting use eggcrate to divide the tank into compartments.

I would treat with NLS Ick-Shield Powder (= Chloroquine Phosphate = CP). It is not the generally promoted method of treating ich here, but it worked in many cases.
Another reason to use it is that you may be dealing with velvet and against that CP is the most effective treatment.

Lost another fish today =/ down to total of 8 fish what do you think is the maximum # for 20 gal long? I'm thinking on friday i'm just going to try to catch all of them and put them in and just do water changes whenever i have to for next 8 weeks.

I think that's a good idea. Which ones are left?

he's asking whether he can use a 20 long for a treatment tank for these fish.

Seriously, i'd get a second 20 long and split that community into two tanks. You also need pretty potent circulation. Tangs in particular take high oxygen---a lot. Big lot. Adding a bubbler might not be a bad idea.

+1

Nah I have had ich in my tank for over 3 weeks now all fish are eating but the one I just lost was not.

If it is going on for over 3 weeks and fish are already dying I wouldn't wait another day as the next wave may be strong enough to kill whatever is left.

I have small purple tang, 2 clowns small, 2 wrasses (1 small sixline, 1 large cleaner wrasse), 1 hawk fish, 1 anthias.. going to catch them tomorrow and put the min 20 gal long
