How many fish in QT going fallow on DT

I only have a 29g currently and I have about 10 fish.
1 yellow tang, 6 line, 2 clowns, 4 anthias(including decent sized male), 1 pink tail trigger, 1 rabbitfish. When I go fallow on the tank, I only have this 29g. Would they be ok for the 8 weeks they will be there for?

How big is the tang, anthias, trigger and rabbit? Those 7 would have to be pretty small for a 29 gal to work for 8 weeks.

What are you going to use for biological filtration in QT?

all of them are less than 4 inches. I was going to use a couple small pieces of LR and the filter i dropped in the main tanks sump a couple months ago. How large of a tank would be required?

I assume you will be treating these fish for Ich? If you planned on using copper, the LR will absorb it and make it difficult to maintain a stable concentration. If the filter in the sump is a porous sponge (or similar), used in a HOB filter (or similar); that would be best.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's going to be extremely tough to QT all those fish in just a 29 gal. You'll have non-stop ammonia & fish aggression issues to deal with. IMO; two 29 gals or a 55 should be used. Even a 40 breeder would give you a little more wiggle room.

I think im going to take out all the coral and stick it in my 29g. Right now all thats in the DT is some base rock that has some algae in it. Theres no way 10 fish will be happy in a 29g and I'd be doing more harm then good. I plan on treating the main tank with CP and see what happens. There is no hard evidence that its absorbed by the rock/sand but at this point, I can't get another tank up and running. Just too much.

I really don't blame you. If you haven't seen it already, this thread and this thread might be of interest.
