How many gallons of water change?

I've heard so many different answers On how many gallons I should be changing weekly to daily.
I have a 75g tank with a 30g tank. What's the standard % I should change weekly?

You'll probably get 100 different answers, but I've always changed 20% every week. Granted, I've always had smaller tanks, but I'm upgrading to a 80g to 90g (total water volume w/sump) and I'm still going to shoot for 20%.
I also run skimmerless, no carbon, with a small refugium. The thing is, each tank is different in every way, no two tanks will ever run the same, regardless of what someone tells you. You'll have to find the balance that works best for you.

I do 10% but I don't have a heavy bioload either. Anywhere between 10% - 20% weekly is acceptable.

Like everything ....... it depends. If you have great tank maintenance, a low fish load, and low demand corals, it could be less than 10 percent.

If you are a bit sloppy in maintenance and nutrient export and have a high fish load, you could use a brute force approach of water changes of over twenty percent.

ime, smaller weekly changes work better than larger monthly water changes. whatever method it seems to be important to be consistent

for me its 10 to 15 gallons 3 times a week.. my total water volume on my reef tank is around 330 gallons with sump and fuge tank..

i adjust this depending on nutrient levels if i see them changing i will step up a bit ..... but my fuge does most of the water cleaning .

When I did 20% every 2 weeks my aquarium did great. I found that this took too much of my life, so I cut the back to 20% every 4 weeks. Unfortunately, my aquarium did not like this. I have since automated, doing 1% daily for 6 months and things seem happy and flourishing again.

I do automatic water changes through out the day every day. It amounts to around 1% daily. I use a spectrapure litermeter with remote pump. They exchange the water 255 times a day.

if your going to do bigger water changes you need to do them more frequently, but bigger one are only needed if you have a high bio-load. smaller ones are better to replace trace elements and help keep nutrients down a little. i had a 57 gallon tank with 10 fish. a hippo, yellow tang, 2 clowns, kole tang, 2 fairy wrasses, coral beauty, goby, 2 anthias. i did 25 percent water change ever 5 days. my new system is 600+ gallons i will be doing 20 gallons water change once a week

This works for me, I do 4 gals per week on an 80gal DT with 40 sump. I find smaller changes with more frequency easier to do so I am more consistant which is a big factor for me.

I have a 280+120+75 sump combined tank volume.

So I most likely have 400 total after rock and head room on the sump.

I set my self up to do 33 gallons once a week.
