How many is too many?

Silly Q from a tridacnid newbie. Is there a limit to the number of clams you can have in 1 reef? If yes, what's the general rule on how many you can house together?

if you're able to hold your water params good and steady, and ensure that every spot in your tank has access to good light, the tank is the limit
