How many LED for this tank?

Looking to change my T5 for LED. So I've narrowed it down to two LED fixtures. The GHL Mitras LX 6100 and the ecotech marine Radion XR30 Pro. The tank is 72 x 24 x 30 high. Will I need two or three of either of these fixtures? Or more? Thanks!

Thanks loup. I'd imagine I would have to adjust the height at which I'll hang them until I like how the spread covers. Only concern is that the tank is 30" high. How high above the surface would be too high that I would lose growth capacity lower in the tank?

Thanks in advance!

My tank is 26 H. Mine is hung 8" above tank. All my LPS (chalice, favia, acan, zoas) has nice color to them. I have a few SPS on the sand bed that still kept their color. I haven't stock much on coral as I have been collecting more fish.

thanks for the info loup. i think i'll go with these. couple of Q's if you have a minute...

do you supplement with fluourecents at all?

where did you buy yours?

I see an option for with or without hyperviolet. Which do you use and what's the difference?

How's your SPS growth under these? My SPS were growing steadily under 8 x T5s on Vue660 ballasts. Will I get more or less growth with these LEDs than the T5s?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks a lot!

When I had the AI Sol in the past, I had to supplement with T5 to get the color I want. But that was my past tank that was loaded with SPS.

This is a fairly new tank and I have move toward more fish. I run my tank in the 72-74 range for some of the fish I am keeping. So I am a bad example of growth as everything grows very slow in this temp.

I got the UV one as I wanted to have certain color pop like with those t5 ulv bulb.

Here is a good thread on sps and mitras
