how many LFS are in your state?

I'm curious how many "good" SW fish stores there currently are in the USA. How many stores do you have in your state. Please try not to repeat if possible so I can get an accurate count.

The industry number that is usually kicked around if ~5K stores in the US that sell marine.

In California you'll need to ask the major areas/clubs and add up the stores yourself In our area we have ~65. Sacto area has like 20 to themselves. Nothern CA theres like 5 total. You just need the Socal, NVR and IEMAS to join in with their numbers now and you have a pretty accurate picture. I'd say your looking at around 150 stores in CA.

while gresh i know you would have a idea better then most. I would think there would be far more then 150 in cali since the LA area is just littered with them but maybe they are all fresh water.

Not that I have found in my searches. I can search my files when I get to work, but I'm pretty sure the number was under 80. 150 may be a little short, but not much more then that, that's for sure

BTW, I'm only counting stores that have a marine section worth talking about, not ones with a tank in the back with some skinny damsels and a few chocolate chip stars
